The Maricopa Unified School District is bringing Maricopans an opportunity to experience the Arizona Academy Drum and Bugle Corps on Saturday, June 26.

From 8-10 a.m., there will be a demonstration for elementary age children. Participants will have the opportunity to meet the performers and try out the instruments. Later that day, from 4-9 p.m., there will be a music and marching clinic for 8th grade and high school students who have band instrument or color guard experience. This clinic will include dinner, hosted by the Corps.

The Academy, a non-profit organization, has 150 members who are ages 16-21 from many local high school and state universities. For additional information, visit www.dci.org.

On Thursday, July 1, there will be an open rehearsal and full performance of the Academy’s 2010 show “Strangers in Paradise” from 7-10 p.m. Admission is just $5. The performance is open to the entire community.

Come out and join MUSD and the city in welcoming the Arizona Drum and Bugle Corps to our community.
