The Maricopa Unified School District named two Maricopa High School employees as “Staff members of the Month” at a school board meeting earlier this month.
The district recognized Aidan Balt as "Teacher of the Month" and Ramon Torres as "Classified Employee of the Month."
Balt was selected for her dedication to excellence and student achievement, according to a district press release.
She is chairwoman of the English Department and “has been instrumental in improving the English curriculum at MHS,” according to the release.
“She has a wealth of English knowledge as well as expertise on effective instructional strategies and ways to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process,” the release states. “She is known as an innovative teacher, who is dedicated to student success.”
For Torres, the release stated he “leads his custodial team by example, maintains high expectations for cleanliness and has great attention to detail. No matter how busy he is, Mr. Torres is quick to respond to the needs of others. He is highly respected by all for his good work, positive energy and never-ending smile.”
