MUSD: This week in athletics

MUSD hosted the playoffs for middle school boys’ soccer and girls’ volleyball Saturday.

“I want to say how proud I was of all of our student athletes that competed over the weekend,” said Cory Nenaber, the athletic director for the Maricopa Unified School District. “The teams, coaches, parents, and staff represented their schools, the district, and our community with pride, sportsmanship and excellence.”

Nenaber said the cheerleaders from Desert Wind Middle School displayed enthusiasm and support throughout the day.

“Congratulations to the 2012 girls' volleyball champions – Desert Wind Tigers – and the 2012 girls’ volleyball runners-up – Maricopa Wells Panthers,” he said.
