The Pinal County NAACP will hold a candlelight vigil from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Copper Sky Amphitheater.

The Rev. Leroy Alamn of Mt. Moriah and Pastor David Anderson of World Outreach Maricopa will pray in solidarity as communities all over the county stand for justice.

Social distancing will be practiced to help keep participants safe. Please bring water to keep cool.

All across the country, communities are leading peaceful protests in the wake of the death of George Floyd, an African American man who died after a Minneapolis officer put his knee on his neck for nearly nine minutes.

Floyd’s death has sparked days of protests nationwide in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and against police brutality.
