Nutrition store opens in Maricopa

Maricopa resident Blanca Herrera was always tired, from the moment she woke up until she went to bed.

To get through the day she would down can after can of sugary soda products, but they ended up leaving her worse off then she started. Then Herrera discovered the Herbalife product brand of protein shakes and nutrient packed teas.

“They not only gave me the energy to get through the day, but made me feel healthier,” she said.

Now, Herrera and her two sisters, Lisa Cassity and Jennifer Cassity, are bringing the Herbalife product line to Maricopa.

The three sisters opened Lasting Nutrition at 19342 N. John Wayne Parkway on Jan. 6.

“We just wanted to open a place Maricopans could come hang out and get a healthy drink,” Jennifer said.

The store features a long bar were patrons can sip their drinks, it also has several comfortable chairs and a children’s play area.

The sisters sell a multitude of shakes and teas, all rich in essential nutrients and aimed at improving general health. “One cup of the tea alone burns 90 calories,” Jennifer said.

Along with drinks, the business offers classes in Yoga and Zumba, and has a certified massage therapist on staff.

“Our goal is to help people transform their lifestyle,” Jennifer said.
