OBITUARY: Edward Manochio

1993

Edward Manochio, a small business owner who made Maricopa his home for the past seven years, died Sunday of cancer. He was 61.

Manochio died in his Maricopa residence surrounded by his family and friends.

Manochio and his wife, Sara, moved from New Jersey to Maricopa in 2007.  The family owns Anyone Home, a local landscaping and house watching business.

Family members said Manochio would tell family and friends back in New Jersey that Maricopa was “paradise” and often spoke of the beauty and friendly atmosphere in Arizona.

They said he loved his family, music and was a passionate athlete and fan of sports.

Manochio played basketball for the University of Maryland in the early 1970’s and looked forward to watching the NCAA men’s basketball tournament each year, family members said. He was an ardent fan of San Francisco sports teams and loved to cheer for the Giants and 49ers.

Manochio is survived by his wife, Sara, his son, Jordan, his daughter, Alaina, and her husband, Thomas. He also is survived by his 1-year-old granddaughter Brielle, who family said was the light of his life.

The family will hold a small tribute to Edward in the coming days. For details on the ceremony you can email Sara Manochio at [email protected].
