Authorities said a man who died in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 347 Saturday morning was a Chandler police detective.
Officer Carrick Cook of the Arizona Department of Public Safety said Sean McKenzie died in the crash on SR347 near Riggs Road.
The crash occurred at 11:41 a.m. and northbound lanes were closed for about three hours. The Maricopa Police Department sent out an alert around 3:10 p.m. stating the lanes had reopened but drivers should expect traffic delays due to congestion.
A motorcycle was involved in the crash, according to DPS. One person was flown to a local hospital for medical treatment.
DPS is investigating the incident. No other information was immediately available.
