A semi-truck overturned on State Route 347 and Riggs Road just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, blocking the right southbound lane and scattering manure on the roadway.

Southbound traffic continued to be backed up past Old Maricopa Road at 4:30 p.m. and restricted to the left lanes. Crews were working to remove manure and move the truck from the road.

The truck driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Cpt. Keith Gephart with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. A reason for the crash was not provided.

Gephart estimated the road to be fully re-opened by 5 p.m.
