Parks & Rec and Public Works committee spots open up

The City of Maricopa is seeking individuals to join the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Committee and the Public Works Committee. Applications are available at City Hall and via the City web site.

Committees, Boards and Commissions work with city staff and elected officials to recommend “best practices.” All applicants must reside within the incorporated city limits of Maricopa. Applications will be accepted for open vacancies beginning July 5 through August 5. All applications must be returned to City Hall (44624 West Garvey Road, next to the Fire Station) by 5:00 p.m. August 5.

The City of Maricopa Parks and Recreation Board is a seven (7) member board that serves as an advisory group to the City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation and Library Department. The group will be responsible for aiding in the development of quality programs, identifying community recreational needs, special event planning and assisting in general park design. Membership consists of staggered two-year terms. This committee is seeking interested residents for two openings, each with terms set to expire in November 2006.

The City of Maricopa Public Works Advisory Board is a seven (7) member board that advises the Maricopa City Council and City management regarding matters of streets, public infrastructure, engineering, transportation and related development. Membership consists of staggered two-year terms. This committee is seeking interested residents for one opening for a term set to expire in November 2006.
