Pedestrian hit crossing John Wayne Parkway

A person walking across John Wayne Parkway was struck by a vehicle Friday night.

According to the Maricopa Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing the roadway from Honeycutt Avenue at around 8:16 p.m. A vehicle turning north from Honeycutt collided with the person.

The pedestrian was transported to Chandler Regional Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Traffic was redirected for approximately 30 minutes. No citations have been issued as the investigation continues. No names were released.
