Peed property purchase on city council’s special meeting agenda for Thursday night

Maricopa’s City Council will meet in special session Thursday evening at the high school’s Summit cafeteria to amend the development fees code and to discuss and possibly act on the option to purchase the Peed property. The agenda follows:

5.0 Agenda Items

Items on the agenda are open for citizen input. Please fill out a card and present it to the City Clerk before the meeting begins. The mayor will call upon you for your comments.

5.1 Ordinance 06-15. An Ordinance of the Mayor and Council of the City of Maricopa, Pinal County, Arizona, amending the City of Maricopa Development Fees Code, section 17-1(i), adding language to clarify the exclusion of public buildings. Discussion and Action.

5.2 Purchase of Land. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on exercising the option to purchase approximately 138.5 acres of property located at the northeast corner of SR238 and Rachael, known as the PEED property. This would complete the purchase of the Peed Property. Discussion and Action.

The Maricopa City Council may go into executive session for purposes of obtaining legal advice from the City’s attorney on any of the above agenda items pursuant to A.R.S.§ 38-431.03 (A)(3).
