Jeff Serdy was unanimously named chairman of the Pinal County Board of Supervisors during the Dec. 14 board meeting. Serdy, who lives in Apache Junction, represents District 5.

His term begins Jan. 1, 2023, and runs through Dec. 31.

Jeffrey McClure, of District 4, was unanimously selected vice chair. Serdy and McClure are swapping roles from 2022 when McClure was chair and Serdy vice chair.

Maricopa is part of District 1 and Kevin Cavanaugh is the Pinal County Supervisor for our district.

“I would like to thank my colleagues for choosing me . . . and I look forward to building on the solid progress we have made as a board over the past two years,” Serdy said.

“With our continued growth, it is an exciting time to be in Pinal County, but we have our challenges, most notably around transportation and water. I look forward to leading the board on these issues, amongst others, as we continue to work in the best interests of the entire Pinal County community.”

Serdy moved to Apache Junction in 1985. He served on the Apache Junction City Council and two terms as the city’s mayor prior to being elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2020.
