Pima Butte Elementary School’s motto is “Together we can make a difference.” This month the school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is working hard to provide the best possible education for Maricopa children through their fundraising efforts.

On Tuesday, October 10, 20 percent of all food and drinks, purchased with a special coupon at Pizza Hut from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., will be donated to Pima Butte. The offer is good for dine in or take out and includes the $5.49 lunch buffet served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

The fall box top collection deadline is Thursday, October 12. Box tops can be dropped off at the school office or sent to school with a student. Classes bringing in the most box tops in grades K-2 and 3-5 will have a pizza party, courtesy of Bashas’, to celebrate their success.

Additionally, the Humanitarian Aid Committee of the PTO is organizing a uniform and can drive from October 9 -12. Receptacles will be provided before and after school on those dates for aluminum cans, which will be recycled throughout the year, and gently used school uniform clothing. According to committee chairperson, JoAnne Kilner, socks, shoes and new underwear are also requested to help children in need.

For further information, Kilner can be contacted via email or at (480) 510-2095.
