A brazen car thief is being sought after an incident Sunday night at a Maricopa convenience store.

According to police, a woman is wanted in connection with the theft of a minivan at the Circle K store at Honeycutt and Porter roads about 11 p.m Sunday.

Police said the owner of the minivan, a gold, 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van with Arizona license plate CGA1966, left his keys in his vehicle while it was running and unlocked, and entered the store.

While the victim was in the store, a black four-door sedan, believed to be a 2010-ish Dodge Avenger, parked next to the minivan, police said. A female got out of the car and entered the store, purchasing three Four Loco beers with cash.

Video footage showed the female leave the store and get into the minivan, with both vehicles driving away.

Police said the suspect appears to be a white or native female with long black or brown hair, with a dark mark on the right side of her forehead. She was wearing a blue tee shirt with writing on it and a gold or silver necklace with a pendant hanging from it.

In a Facebook post on Monday morning, police said they are working on releasing a better image of the suspect.

People with information on the case are asked to call Maricopa police at 520-568-3673.
