Maricopa police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Sunday morning at Papa John’s Pizza, 41620 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.
Maricopa Police Department spokesman Ricky Alvarado said the incident took place around 12:30 a.m. and involved a male suspect with a handgun. The business is open until midnight on Saturday, according to hours posted next to the store’s front entrance.
Alvarado said employees in the store were unharmed.
He would not give further details about the incident because police are still investigating.
