The Maricopa Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.
A male suspect has been taken to a hospital, said department spokesman Ricky Alvarado. The officer involved in the incident was not injured.
The incident took place around 2:45 p.m., Alvarado said. Honeycutt Road between White and Parker and Porter roads are closed. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
Alvarado did not have any other details at this time.
