Maricopa Police have determined how the suspects in the Oct. 6 shooting in Rancho El Dorado entered the neighborhood without being seen.

According to Sgt. Colt Homan of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division, “During this investigation, it was found subjects are utilizing Gila River Reservation to enter our city through housing developments. The areas being used include the wash in Rancho El Dorado and any other type of desert entry into our city through other subdivisions. The wire lines in Rancho El Dorado were cut so vehicles could pass through without using major roadways (such as SR) 347, Hartman, and Murphy.”

Homan asked the public to please keep a look out for vehicles using means other than roadways to enter the city.

Police said the suspects in the shooting are still at large, but MPD is currently investigating leads. The MPD said there currently is no probable cause for an arrests, and the department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively working the case.

MPD has requested that if the public has any information which may be beneficial to this case, please contact Sgt. Homan or MPD Det. Egendorfer on the police non-emergency number at (520) 568-3673.
