With the Maricopa Unified School District #20 opening middle and high schools this week for in-person instruction, InMaricopa wanted to see how parents felt about it and if their children returned to their schools.

As of noon Friday, 128 people answered our informal poll, which asked: With MUSD middle and high schools now open along with elementary schools, did your child go back to in-person classes for the semester?

The results were close, with about 48% of voters sending their kids back to school and 45% who did not. About 7% were unsure.

In a Facebook post promoting the poll, reader  comments reflected the poll results with many sharing their experiences (and their preference) for in-school classes or virtual classes.

“Yup! My Senior was ready and raring to get back to the in school structure! Go Rams!” wrote Stephanie Paul. “Stay healthy and stay patient as this is all new for all of us. All kids need the structure of being back in school. Don’t let the media scare ya!”

“I’d do anything to protect my kids. They are staying home and don’t mind. May the odds be ever in everyone else’s favor I guess,” Christina Gibbs commented.
