Maricopans looking for more safety and security in their communities believe a neighborhood Block Watch program could be a good way to get it.
Last week, our informal reader poll asked, “There is strong evidence that neighborhood Block Watch reduces crime. Would you like to see it in your HOA community?”
More than three-quarters of the 138 respondents – 76.8% – said they would like to see their HOA institute Block Watch. Just 15.2% said they were against the idea and 8% answered they were not sure.
A recent organizing effort is underway to reenergize Block Watch in the city.
