The pregnant mother who died last week with her unborn child in a Phoenix accident was a Maricopa resident.
Samantha Bean-Lansman, 26, was involved in an accident about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at McDowell Road at 52nd Street, according to Phoenix police.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, she was the mother of a six-year-old daughter, Allie, and a resident of Santa Rosa Springs.
Bean-Lansman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was nearly nine months pregnant with her second child. Her unborn son did not survive, police said.
She apparently did not stop for a red light and her Nissan Altima slammed into a box truck that was trying to make a turn at the intersection, police said.
Police said the 49-year-old truck driver, who remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment. Neither he nor his passenger were injured, police said.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family to pay for funeral expenses and establish an education fund for Allie.
“She will be missed so much,” a friend wrote of Bean-Lansman on Facebook. “She was a beautiful person.”
