PRL Advisory Committee to craft park rules and regulations

During their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, the Parks, Recreation and Libraries Advisory Committee will be discussing the formulation of park rules and regulations. An update on current and future programs and special events will be provided. A spring Recreation Town Hall will be another topic on the following agenda:

Items on the agenda are open for citizen input. Please fill out a card and present it to the Committee Chair before the meeting begins. The Committee Chair will call upon you for your comments.

3.1 Recreation Town Hall. Committee will revisit and possibly take action on a recreation town hall slated for the Spring of 2006 with the intent to solicit community feedback regarding current and future programs sponsored by the City of Maricopa PRL Department.

3.2 Park Rules and Regulations. Committee will begin the process of crafting park rules and regulations to pass onto the Maricopa City Council for recommendation.

3.3 Director’s Report: Committee will hear a brief update on the status of spring programs, salsa festival, fishing derby, spring soccer and future programs.

3.4 Future Items. The committee will discuss future agenda items for the March 14, 2006 meeting.

4.0 Call to the Public

The procedures to follow if you address the Committee are: The Parks, Recreation and Library Advisory Committee requests that you express your ideas in five minutes or less and refrain from any personal attacks or derogatory statements about any City employee, a fellow citizen, or anyone else, whether in the audience or not. The Committee Chair will limit discussion whenever he/she deems such an action appropriate to the proper conduct of the meeting. At the conclusion of an open call to the public, individual members of the Parks, Recreation and Library Advisory Committee may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the Parks, Recreation and Library Advisory Committee may ask Staff to review a matter, or may ask that a matter be put on a future agenda. However, members of the Parks, Recreation and Library Advisory Committee shall not discuss or take legal action on any matters during an open call to the public unless the matters are properly noticed for discussion and legal action.
