3. Agenda Items

3.1 Introduction of New Public Safety Committee Member. Joyce Hollis, who was appointed to the committee to replace Shana Kerr, will be introduced to the committee. Discussion.

4. Unfinished Business

4.1 Traffic Taskforce. The committee shall discuss the meeting of the Traffic Task Force on November 16, 2006. Discussion and Recommendation to City Staff.

4.2 Parking Ordinance. The committee shall discuss the need and/or implementation of a parking Ordinance in order to facilitate PCSO enforcement of parking code. Discussion and Recommendation to City Staff.

4.3 Scooters. The committee shall discuss recommendation to city staff regarding motorized scooters within Maricopa city limits. Discussion and Recommendation to City Staff.

4.4 Safe Routes to Schools Program. The committee shall discuss the Safe Routes to Schools Program which has funding to be distributed through the state for helping keep children safe on their way to school. Discussion and Recommendation to City Council.

4.5 Old Issues. The committee shall discuss old issues which have not been resolved by staff or council. Discussion.

5. New and Miscellaneous Business

5.1 Reports from Agencies. The committee shall hear reports from PCSO, Maricopa Fire Department, Southwest Ambulance, Animal Control and PC Health Department and discuss resulting issues as they pertain to general public safety in Maricopa. Discussion.

5.2 New Issues. The committee shall discuss new public safety issues of which city staff should be aware. Discussion.

5.3 Next Meeting. On Monday, December 18, 2006

6. Call to the Public

The procedures to follow if you address the Committee are: Committee requests that you express your ideas in five minutes or less and refrain from any personal attacks or derogatory statements about any City employee, a fellow citizen, or anyone else, whether in the audience or not. The Chair will limit discussion whenever he deems such an action appropriate to the proper conduct of the meeting.
