The weekend is expected to start with potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms, but by Saturday the skies are projected to clear up and usher in sunny days.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday has a 30 percent chance of rain into the evening, and a 40 percent chance of showers throughout the night. The storms are expected to linger into Friday afternoon, but the moisture should move out by Friday night.

Friday is projected to have a 20 percent chance of rain in the morning and afternoon. The expected high is just 78 degrees, and the overnight low should drop near 53 degrees. The wind is expected to stay calm, but gusts could reach above 10 mph throughout the day.

On Halloween, the storm system is expected to be out of the area. The forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 79 degrees. The wind is once again expected to stay calm near 5 mph, and the overnight low is projected to drop to 54 degrees.

Sunday is expected to see temperatures return to the 80s with a high of 81 degrees. The forecast calls for sunny skies, and the wind is expected to remain calm. The overnight low is expected to continue its gradual climb to 55 degrees.

Next week is expected to start with sunny days but transition to rain by mid week. According to the NWS, Monday is projected to be sunny with a high of 85 degrees. Tuesday is also expected to be sunny, but the temperature is projected to drop 10 degrees to 73 for the high.

By Wednesday, a new storm system could arrive in the area. More information will be available as the weekend comes to a close.
