After a rough 0-4 start to the season, the Maricopa High School football team seems to be finding its way. The Rams followed their shutout at Vista Grande last week with a 35-14 win over Marana High School in Tucson.

Senior Geovanni Walker came up big again, registering 108 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches. The two-way player also had an interception on defense.

Quarterback Aaron Owens had another impressive performance with 256 passing yards, three touchdown passes and a rushing score.

Senior receiver Elisha Donaldson had just one catch, but he made it count with an 82-yard scamper to the end zone.

Dominant second and third quarters, during which the Rams outscored the Tigers 28-7, powered Maricopa (2-4, 1-0) to the victory.

The Rams will be back on their home turf Friday for a matchup against section opponent Tucson Canyon del Oro High School (4-2).
