Registration underway for MUSD schools

After the long, hot summer, it is likely that students (and their parents) will be looking forward to Aug. 10, the first day of the 2009-2010 school year for Maricopa public schools.

Neighborhood elementary schools are already registering students at their individual locations, daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet the Teacher nights will be Aug. 6, from 5-7 p.m. at each of the six elementary schools, as well as the two middle schools…

Maricopa Wells Middle School is already doing registrations. On Aug. 6 from 4-7 p.m. new and returning students will be able to pick up schedules and meet their teachers.

On Aug. 4 Desert Wind Middle School will be handing out class and bus schedules, books, sports physical information and IDs in the school cafeteria at 10-11 a.m., 3-4 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. Schedules will also be available for pick up on Aug. 5 – 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At Maricopa High School registration for new and returning students begins Monday, Aug. 3, in the cafeteria. On Monday through Thursday, each class will be registering according to the first letter of the student’s last name. Each day the schedule will be: last name beginning with A-F (2-3 p.m.), G-O (3-4 p.m.), P-Z (4-5 p.m.) and all students not able to register earlier on their assigned class day (5-6 p.m.).

Classes will register, according to the schedule above, on specific days:
Seniors: Monday, Aug. 3
Juniors: Tuesday, Aug. 4
Sophomores: Wednesday, Aug. 5
Freshmen: Thursday, Aug. 6

Evening hours for MHS student registration will also be available on Aug. 4 and Aug. 6, according to the following schedule and the first letter of the student’s last name: A-F (6-7 p.m.), G-O (7-8 p.m.) and P-Z (8-9 p.m.). For further information call 520-568-8100.
