Anyone interested in being appointed to Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board has until April 17 to submit paperwork to the county’s education department.

One seat was left vacant last month with the resignation of Joshua Judd. County School Superintendent Jill Broussard will select the appointee to fill out the remainder of his term, which ends Dec. 31.

Nominees must live within the boundaries of the school district. Find the application at PinalESA.org/el/BoardMemberSchoolDistrictVacancies.aspx where it can be completed online. It must be printed out, signed, notarized and mailed or hand-delivered by 5 p.m. Friday. You may also ask for an application to be sent to you by contacting Mark Krumrey at the county superintendent’s office, P.O. Box 769, Florence AZ 85132, 520-866-6565, [email protected].

Judd’s seat is also one of three up for election this year, along with those occupied by AnnaMarie Knorr and Torri Anderson. Those seats will be on the general election ballot in November.
