Maricopa Chamber of Commerce President Courtny Tyler and Executive Director Terri Kingery opened the Chamber’s speaker event Wednesday evening with a special award.

“This individual proudly terms herself a ‘gopher,'” explained Kingery. She described the recipient as someone who gives of herself, her time and commitment, to various groups and organization, including the Chamber and the Maricopa Optimist Club. Happy to stay in the background, added Kingery, “her business cards read ‘Community Volunteer.'”

Renate Chamberlin, long time member of the city’s Chamber of Commerce, was awarded the inaugural Renate Chamberlin Service Award.

This service award will be given annually to deserving individuals who “go above and beyond like Chamberlin,” Kingery said.
