Resident: Kids’ future depends on override vote

For the past several years, MUSD 20 has just been getting by. Class sizes are continually growing and, in many cases, have surpassed what most people would consider an effective learning environment. For example, last year some kindergarten classes had over 30 students in them. Our children deserve better!

This is where the community can help. Voting “YES” on the override will help our kids directly by lowering class sizes and offering expanded learning opportunities. “YES” will also greatly expand the technology available to our students and the know-how to integrate that technology. By passing the override, each student in MUSD 20 will be positively affected and will ultimately be better prepared for college and life.

The residents of Maricopa stand at a cross roads and are being asked to make our community better. Together, let’s show the children of our community they are worth the investment. Maricopa is a great place to live and raise a family, but together we can make it better. Voting “YES” will help equip the children of our community with the smaller class sizes and the technology they deserve. Their future depends on us!

Please vote “YES” on the override on Nov. 8.

  1. Every year the MUSD schools improve without the override which has been rejected for the last 7 years (I believe). By stating "Kids’ future depends on override vote" are you stating that unless this override passes all the children are DOOMED??? What a load of cow poop! The schools are doing fine and should get a nice influx of money this year from Prop 123.

NO BAND-AID FIXES. They cause even more problems when they expire. NO NO NO!

  2. As mentioned above, the only solution the school board can come up with is ask the taxpayers fro more money. Their is so much waste by this school district, (electronic reader board at Butterfield Elem.). Adding more teachers will not solve the problem. The school board needs to do its job. It is not for the kids, as the sign says, it is fro the administrators who like to do nothing. And if this does not work they can ask for more money in 2 years, and 2 more after that, and so on. I am tired of carry the burden for inadequate administration who's only solution is more money.

    • That "reader board" was purchased by the Butterfield PTO after fundraising monies for years, ASK FOR THE RECORDS. Please research, simply not doing homework can lead to misunderstandings as to where certain monies go in the budget, it is all public none of it is hidden.
Ask questions, attend a board meeting or watch them on youtube, inform before assume.
This is such an old record spinning- old town mentality- believe it or not, this district has been cleaned up- and cleaned out. It is not the good ol'boy district anymore. That was the thoughts 10 years ago, time to stop assuming it hasn't changed since 2004- the way it was is NOT the way it is now- that is an old story and old thinking. Research before assuming.
