Former candidate Rosalin Sanhadja has decided to run again for a seat on the Maricopa City Council.

Like returning candidate Bridger Kimball, Sandhadja lost in the 2010 election to present Councilmembers Julia Gusse and Alan Marchione.

Sanhadja has lived in Maricopa since 2007 and has served in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate Corps (JAG) as a soldier and legal specialist. She held the position of director and accounting manager of child care information systems in Pennsylvania before relocating to Maricopa.

She presently serves on the Transportation Advisory Committee for the city of Maricopa and believes she can utilize these experiences as a member of council.

“As mentioned in my previous campaign,” Sanhadja said, “I believe I can bring to city council my previous experience in transportation services and as a previous director and operations manager — my skills with budgets and community action programs for adults, seniors and children.”

Sanhadja believes her background in law also helps, citing her legal assistance experience with government, labor and employment litigation.

In her previous campaign she stated her background gave her the insight to manage the taxpayers’ money, and considered herself “a guardian” of those funds. Sanhadja said it was her responsibility to balance budgets that included both state and federal money.
