A man was charged with assaulting a woman overnight Monday.
Remond L. Hollis, 44, was charged with assault (domestic violence) and two counts of disorderly conduct (domestic violence), police said.
At 12:49 a.m., police were called to a home in the Senita neighborhood for a report of a disturbance. The reporting party told officers that Hollis was inside the house arguing with her and had a handgun, police said.
According to a probable cause statement, officers arrived on the scene and made contact with Hollis, the woman who reported the incident and a juvenile in the home.
The woman told officers that Hollis started an argument because “he felt disrespected,” police said. She told officers that Hollis assaulted her by pushing her toward the bed and slapping her in the face, the probable cause statement said.
Both the woman and the juvenile told officers that Hollis had grabbed a handgun, pointed it at his own head, and pulled the trigger multiple times, police say.
Hollis was booked on the charges into Pinal County Jail, where he remained as of Monday afternoon, according to online jail records. No hearing information was available.
