A structure fire in the Saddleback section of Maricopa was burning wildly around 6:45 p.m. Thursday.
The blaze apparently erupted at a modular home in the 15000 block of North Saddleback Vista Avenue, according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch. It was not believed any other homes were in jeopardy in the neighborhood, just east of Murphy Road, north of the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway.
Flames were shooting high into the air as seen on live video shot by InMaricopa.
More than a dozen fire and rescue units were on the scene of the fire in the southeast section of the city. A plume of black smoke drifting westward could be seen for miles away from the fire.
