Maricopa Unified School District’s governing board will meet Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at the district office administration building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy.

In addition to approving vouchers and personnel changes, board members will hear an update on Santa Cruz Elementary School from its principal, Dr. John Flores.

Transportation Director Fred Laguna will bring the board members information on that department as well as recent Versatrans software issues.

Maricopa High School Principal June Celaya will provide graduation projections for that school, and Business Director Aron Rausch will provide a monthly financial report.

Board members will hear the second reading of policy services advisories for over 20 different board policies, including executive sessions and open meetings, bidding and purchasing procedures, bus safety programs, curriculum adoption, open enrollment, weapons in school, student discipline and immunization of students, to name only a few.

The first reading of staff conflict of interest (Policy GBEAA) will be open for discussion and board approval.

The board will be asked to approve travel for four Maricopa High School CAVIT students to attend the Medical Assistant Learn and Serve Leadership Camp in Prescott. The camp will be held Nov. 3-5. Yvette Gash will chaperone the students, and all expenses will be paid by CAVIT.

The regularly scheduled Dec. 15 meeting may be moved to Dec. 8, if the board agrees on the change.
