The Santa Rosa Wash is seeing lots of waterflow from the recent rain, but that does not seem to deter Maricopa drivers from attempting to cross it.

Early Tuesday afternoon, drivers were seen passing through the wash that runs across Rancho El Dorado Parkway, before city workers closed the gates on the southernmost crossing in the neighborhood.

The crossing on Rancho El Dorado Parkway’s north side was not affected at the time, as water levels were lower and barely topped the road.
