Say Sushi closes its doors

Chalk up another casualty to a down economy. Nearly three years after opening, Maricopa restaurant Say Sushi has closed its doors.

The owners of Say Sushi, located in the Fry’s Marketplace Center, could not be reached for comment. Barclay Group, which manages the property, would only confirm the tenant was gone.

Despite receiving generally positive online reviews from various Web sites, the local eatery was not able to stay in business. Say Sushi is the second Maricopa eatery to close this month. Java Junction, a gourmet coffee and sandwich shop, closed its doors last week. It had only been open since Sept. 4.
