School board to elect president and vice president tonight

51

At tonight’s regular meeting of the MUSD governing board, a president and vice president will be elected to serve through December. Presently Geoff Goddard is the board president, and Tracy Davis is vice president.

In addition to the election of board officers, and the approval of donations, expense vouchers and the personnel schedule, the board will be asked to approve travel for five Future Farmers of America students to attend a leadership conference at Peoria High School later this month.

Several presentations are slated for the meeting. Director of Multiple Projects Lynnette Michalski will review the school improvement site goals and the first round of Galileo testing results.

The governing board will hear a brief report on the Arizona School Board Association’s annual conference, as well as updates on the high school’s athletic department from Athletic Director Shannon Hull and graduation tracking from Principal June Celaya.

Director of Business Services Aron Rausch will provide further information on the March 9 override election.

According to the agenda, the governing board may go into executive session for legal advice on the interim superintendent position, and a contract that is being negotiated.

The MUSD governing board retreat is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23.
