Developers today confirmed Maricopa’s second Taco Bell is expected to break ground in the coming days and open early next year.
Earlier this year, InMaricopa announced the Tex-Mex drive-thru would open its second restaurant at 42080 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The first location is on the John Wayne strip near Bashas’.
A building permit was issued last week. Construction fences now surround the site but dirt has not started moving quite yet.
“We are anticipating breaking ground this week or next week,” said John Baldwin of the Queen Creek-based Baldwin Development Group.
“The anticipated finish date for construction is March,” Baldwin said, “I’m sure opening shortly thereafter, possibly April.”
Established in 1962, the California-based fast-food chain is one of the biggest in the world, with a strong presence in the U.S. and many other countries. There are more than 180 locations in Arizona.
