The Against Abuse Seeds of Change Gala is March 3, 6-10 p.m., in Province. It will be very similar to last year’s more dressed-down affair. As such, it is called “Re-Boot the Bling.”

The event raises funds for the local shelter for women and their children coming out of domestic violence situations. Last year, the gala raised more than $25,000 after expenses. Organizer Torri Anderson is hoping to do the same this year.

The funds pay for operations at the Against Abuse house.

“And it all stays right here locally,” Anderson said.

She called attire for the evening “comfortably casual.” That means, anything goes. Attendees can come in as much jewelry or denim as they wish.

The band About Last Night returns to play all night. This time, there will be line-dance lessons starting at 6:45 p.m. Dinner of sliced brisket and pulled pork provided by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will be served 7-8:30 p.m.

After a year off, the live auction returns, starting at 9 p.m. Among items up for grabs are Southwest Airlines tickets, Disneyland tickets, custom art created specifically for the gala, an equine sculpture and gift baskets and experiences. Kendra Scott will be back to provide a jewelry pull.

There is also a silent auction. “The majority of the items will be raffles,” Anderson said. “People requested that.”
