Authorities have arrested an out-of-state sex offender who was living in Maricopa.

Richard Juanlaund Fox, 43, was taken into custody on Wednesday by members of Maricopa police, the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission, police said.

Fox, who was convicted of sexual assault in Alaska according to online records, had absconded, according to authorities in that state.

Police in Anchorage, Alaska requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals in locating Fox. Marshals were able to determine Fox was living in Maricopa.

City police did not reveal a local address for Fox in announcing the arrest on Facebook on Sunday.

Fox was arrested without incident and booked into Pinal County Jail for failing to register as a sex offender, police said.

Fox was no longer being held at the jail as of Sunday afternoon, according to online inmate records.
