Quick, what day is Sunday?

If you can’t answer, here is a pleasant reminder: It’s Mothers Day.

For those who haven’t bought that special lady anything yet, don’t worry. There is still time and plenty to choose from close to home at several stores in Maricopa that will be open Saturday and Sunday for last-minute purchases.

For starters, two grocery stores offer products that might make great gifts for moms.

Fry’s Marketplace will be open from 6 a.m. till 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with Mother’s Day specials including flowers, wine, candy, furniture and more.

Prices start as low as a couple of dollars and run upwards from there.

Across the street, Bashas’ offers am extreme Mothers day layout featuring flowers, candies, balloons and more. All are available at discounted prices from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, local floral specialist Cotton Blossom Flower Shoppe is celebrating Mother’s Day with store specials.

Cotton Blossom will feature an assortment of floral gifts for mom starting at $30, although the most popular floral arrangements cost $45-$65, said Cindy Dunn, owner of the store. Her store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

“Everyone has a mom, and flowers are the tried-and-true gift for her,” Dunn said.
