Maricopa Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle-pedestrian accident around 4 a.m. on Smith-Enke Road just east of Province Parkway. MPD spokesman Sgt. Hal Koozer said officers attempted lifesaving efforts on the male subject providing CPR. Maricopa Fire responded, but the subject passed away on scene.
Koozer said the driver is cooperating with police and impairment does not appear to be a factor.
Koozer said MPD was making contact with victim’s family.
