SR 238 reopens near Ralston Road after severe flooding from storm

ADOT has reopened State Route 238 west of town after a 19-hour closure due to flooding. The highway was fully closed between Maricopa and Gila Bend.

State Route 238 west of Maricopa has reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The highway had been completely closed from State Route 347 to Gila Bend since about 5 p.m. Wednesday due to flooding at milepost 41 near Ralston Road.

Motorists had been forced to seek alternate routes during the 19-hour closure.

Motorists can get real time highway conditions on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511, downloading the AZ 511 app and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT.
