Forget the beach. Explore the wonderful world of science instead.

Students in the Maricopa area can do experiments and learn about scientific analysis and results each Tuesday and Thursday during the month of June, except Tuesday, June 15.

The free ‘science excursions’ will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at Maricopa Wells Middle School, 45725 W. Honeycutt Ave., with lunch provided in the cafeteria at no charge.

Parents must provide transportation to and from the program; there is no bus transportation. Pick up and drop off are at the front door at Maricopa Wells.

Some of the innovative and exciting topics to be explored include;

· Lumpy liquid and blubber balls
· Lifting ice cubes and soapy froth
· Harry Potter potion
· Volcanoes
· Twitching straw and wiggle worms
· Hoopster and spinning rainbows
