After storms hit Maricopa early in the week, sunny skies are breaking through for the weekend, and the autumn and winter days Arizona residents brag about are nearly upon us.

According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect to see sunny days with highs in the mid-80s throughout the weekend. Some clouds may appear, but no moisture is expected until late next week.

The forecast for Friday calls for sunny skies with a high near 84 degrees. The wind is expected to stay calm near 8 mph throughout the day, and the overnight low is projected to be 59 degrees.

Saturday is also shaping up to be a mildly hot and sunny day. The projected high for Saturday is 87 degrees, and the wind should once again remain calm near 8 mph. The overnight low is expected to drop to 62 degrees.

Sunday is expected to round out the weekend with another sunny day. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies and a high near 88 degrees. Once again, the wind is expected to stay calm, and the overnight low is projected to drop to 65 degrees.

As the new week approaches, sunny skies are expected to stay through Wednesday, but storms could return to the area on Thursday. More information will be available as the weekend comes to a close.
