Temperature are slowly rising to the high 70s after a cold front swept through Maricopa this week and dropped temperatures to the mid 60s.

According to the National Weather Service, Maricopa should see temperatures rise to the high 70s throughout the weekend. Sunshine is expected for the most part, but clouds and potential storms could roll into the area on Sunday.

Thursday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with temperatures reaching 75 degrees. Mild wind near 10 mph is expected throughout the day, but gusts could reach up to 15 mph. Scattered clouds are possible in the evening, but no moisture is expected. The overnight low is projected to drop to 42 degrees.

Friday is expected to be the warmest day of the weekend at 78 degrees, and the skies should remain clear throughout the day. Wind is expected to stay near 10 mph, but gusts could reach up to 12 mph. The night sky is expected to remain clear, and the overnight low should drop to 44 degrees.

The forecast for Saturday calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 77 degrees. The wind should be a non-factor throughout the day with gusts only reaching 5 mph. Intermittent clouds should appear throughout the day, but no moisture is expected. The overnight low is expected to be 50 degrees.

Saturdays clouds are expected to remain on Sunday. The partly-cloudy day should have a high of 73 degrees and winds reaching 10 mph. As the evening approaches, more clouds are expected to arrive.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain Sunday night, according to NWS. The storm system could linger through Monday before blowing out Tuesday morning.

The storm front is expected to drop temperatures next week. Highs in the mid 60s are expected.
