Maricopa Unified School District Superintendent Tracey Lopeman explains some details of a coronavirus outbreak. After one staff member of Saddleback Elementary reported contracting COVID-19, five more cases involving students and staff at the campus were diagnosed, leading to a two-week shutdown of the school. One case was reported at Butterfield Elementary this week and another at Maricopa High School. Saddleback students will return to distance learning until Nov. 12.
