For those interested in hearing about the Maricopa Unified School District override proposal on the general election ballot, you have a chance to learn about it directly from Superintendent Steve Chestnut.

Chestnut is holding two parent/community coffee meetings – at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. – Wednesday in the MUSD boardroom, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, explain how the override funds be used and answer any questions.

“I know there are some questions out there,” Chestnut said. “I’ve spoken to some people about the override, but I haven’t actually had a forum where parents and community members could discuss it with me.”

Chestnut has hosted community coffee events three or four times a year since he took over as superintendent in 2012.

“We always discuss a timely topic in the schools and community,” Chestnut said. “I thought the override would be a good topic to discuss this time around.”
