Training for Reading Buddy Program Thursday

71

Maricopa Unified School District will provide the first of several unique training opportunities for certified and registered volunteers on Thursday.

The Reading Buddy Program is a volunteer and/or parent training to enable individuals to increase the reading skills of students in the community and/or their own children.

This training will introduce a new “Reading Buddy” manual to assist adults in working with students who want and/or need to strengthen their reading skills. Volunteers who come to the trainings will then be placed with students who need assistance in reaching their grade level potential.

MUSD strives for excellence and invites parents and volunteers to be a part of that effort and this program.

“Perfection is just around the corner, and it will take everyone who can, to make the difference,” said district Volunteer Coordinator Margaret Jackson, who will be presenting the training sessions.

For information on the training or to sign up, contact Jackson at [email protected] or 520-568-6110, ext. 2433. Please leave your name, contact number and whether or not you plan to attend the training.
