A heat warning remains in place for Maricopa through 8 p.m. tonight, according to the National Service. That leads into a sunny weekend of triple-digit highs that will gradually drop heading into next week.

Excessive heat, with afternoon temperatures of 103-107, can cause heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Today is sunny, with an expected high of 107 and breezes gusting up to 20 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 66.

Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 104 and winds of 10-15 mph again gusting up to 20 mph. The overnight low will be around 67 under partly cloudy skies.

Saturday is forecast to be sunny with a high near 103. The nighttime low will be around 70 with calm winds.

Sunday will likely be partly sunny with a high near 100. The overnight low will be around 66.

For the start of next week, the days will have highs in the mid to high 90s.
