Maricopa’s dining options continue to expand.

Eegee’s, which grew from a single truck selling frozen lemonade in Tucson in 1971 to a frozen smoothie dynasty with a near cult following, especially in southern Arizona, is coming to Maricopa. The restaurant chain, with 30 locations throughout Arizona, is coming to Madison Pointe, located on John Wayne Parkway south of Edison Road and north of Hathaway Ave.

The restaurant specializes in a frozen delight known as an Eegee, which its website describes as an “icy cold, silky smooth, fresh fruit packed deliciousness of Eegee’s iconic frozen treat.” Eegees are available in lemon, strawberry, piña colada, skinny berry and a flavor of the month.

Eegee’s also sells hot and cold sub sandwiches, grinders, salads, fries and other side dishes.

No timetable for the opening of the restaurant is currently available.
