Two eateries struggle with food temperatures

Maricopa Elementary School

Pinal County Environmental Health inspected 22 establishments that offer food in Maricopa Sept. 15-Oct. 15 and found all but two were excellent. The two had similar issues – keeping food at proper temperatures – and were marked as satisfactory.

The cafeteria at Santa Cruz Elementary School had French fries in a warmer at 130 degrees F instead of the required hot-holding temperature of 135 F or above. It also had salad bar items sitting at 47 F instead of the required cold-holding temperature of 41 F or below.

The McDonald’s inside Wal-Mart had a troublesome refrigerator that held milk and orange juice at 48 F and another milk container at 50 F instead of 41 F.
